I spent 10 years working in real estate development in the 2000s and when I decided to leave what was to all intents and purposes a comfortable world, I often got asked my reasons for doing so.
What was behind my decision?
In fact, I changed the course of my career on the basis of one simple realisation.
The development of the Lafi group, comprising Lafi Engineering and Lafi Management, was born of the belief that the 2008 financial crisis had forced players in the real estate industry to change the way they were organised. The breakdown we witnessed made it easier to distinguish between the financiers playing the role of developers on the one hand – property investment and management companies, funds managed by asset managers, owners/occupiers-, and the operational roles responsible for fulfilling the objectives set out by the former on the other hand.
The development, over the last few years, of providers who are at the service of financiers confirmed my intuition.
The unique range of solutions proposed by the Lafi group sets the firm well apart from the competition and clearly demonstrates the firm’s ability and agility to provide a wide range of in-house services. From acquisition audits to the implementation of multi-trade contracts, our teams provide a full range of management contracting, engineering and design services.
Therein lies our strength! Being able to adapt our solutions to the needs expressed by our clients who are confronted with a diverse variety of real estate issues. Lafi has developed a culture of specifically-tailored services with a view to earning and sustaining client loyalty. Our main endeavour is not to develop the firm at all costs. What matters to the group is maintaining very high levels of expertise and excellent standards of service. We are organised in such a way as to ensure proximity to our clients and partners, architects in particular.
We work with a sole and unique objective in sight – to deliver efficient buildings free of defects and thus guarantee the satisfaction of end-users and our clients!
